Hi and congratulations on your impending wedding!
I’m Shirley, an experienced Marriage Celebrant and it’s great to meet you.

Whether you’re aiming for a laid-back intimate affair or a blowout celebration, my promise is to really get to know you, understand your story and help shape a ceremony you’ll cherish forever.

With a background in planning big events in the UK, I’ve settled back in beautiful Maraetai, East Auckland. I lived abroad and travelled for 16 years (UK, Asia, + 29 other countries) so naturally people and cultures fascinate me. A wedding in Laos looks very different to a wedding in UK, Peru or Aotearoa New Zealand, but love and the human need for connection are just the same!

I’m all set to put my event-planning expertise to work for your wedding. From pre-wedding chats to wedding rehearsal, dealing with wider whanau (Māori for 'family') and vendors, helping you write meaningful vows to making sure every detail is covered so you don’t have to worry (um, I have clear umbrellas, floral umbrellas, tartan… need I go on?), I’ve got you covered!

what i bring to your wedding

First up, we'll have a complimentary Zoom chat or a face-to-face meeting to make sure we're a great match before you commit to my services.
I’ll help you handle all the legal stuff and map out a timeline and list of things to be done (I love lists!).
Then I would love to hear your story. Your love story is a precious taonga (Māori for 'treasure') which I will use to craft a unique ceremony perfect for you. I consider myself a holder of treasure, a story teller, event planner and ceremony co-ordinator.

Here are my promises to you:

Craft a wedding that’s completely unique and totally you
Be your guide from the very beginning to the final flourish.
You won’t catch me sporting a ‘fascinator’ – those are reserved for royalty or the mother of the bride!
Celebration, sacredness and joy will be etched in your memory as you launch into your future together!
